The Artista CR805 Reverse Image Retransfer ID Card printer prints true “over the edge” in amazing  600 dpi colour.  No need to purchase pre-printed cards to get that professional over the edge finish, the CR805 can print this from scratch.  The Pigment ink* (*Option) resists UV fading, resulting in longer lasting images and lifelike skin tones.

Retransfer printers use ink ribbon and film to dye sublimate print onto cards. The image gets printed onto the reverse side of a clear film, and that film is then thermally transferred onto the cards. Using this process the printhead does not come into contact with the cards, thereby preventing damage to the printhead.
